Lego Review: A-wing Starfighter, 75275

A-wing Starfighter, Ultimate Collector Series, Set Number 75275. Piece count: 1672

The A-Wing is the first Ultimate Collector Series Lego set to join my Lego Collection and I think I made the right choice in picking this ship to be the first. The set was £179.99, and I do think that the money is put to good use. The set isn't Minifigure scale, but larger instead. The ship is big enough to rest in my arms like a baby or a dog. This set comes with a display stand that effectively shows off the ship in any way you want to. The black stand allows you to fit the ship onto a peg and tilt it about 30 degrees to one side. This means you can have the A-wing facing any direction and show off your ship.

The colour scheme and the ship design is meant to reflect the A-Wing's shown in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, which was their first appearance in the Star Wars universe as they were used by the Rebel Alliance to Destroy the second Death Star and end the Galactic Empire's reign on the galaxy. The red and white looks beautiful across the whole ship. The red used is a darker shade than the previous playsets that have been released by Lego. The burgundy colour stands out more in the white ship and the colouring is actually asymmetrical on the ship at times resembles the ragtag style that the rebellion was forced to employ due to their low funds.

This set was the most I've ever spent on a Lego set before and I am very happy with my results. I had a blast building the set and it's something I want to keep for a very long time. This is my favourite Lego set and it's worthy of being the first review I post on this blog.
